Open Records Requests
Texas Local Government Code Chapter 552 defines and regulates the release of public information by government entities. To read the statute in its entirety, please click this LINK. The City of Westworth Village processes information requests and charges corresponding fees in accordance with LGC 552. Requests must be made in writing and will not be completed until payment is received.

Requests for City Hall records must be submitted to the City Secretary's office, by one of these methods:

- You will be notified of associated fees prior to completion of your request. Payment may be made by cash, check, or money order payable to the City of Westworth Village.
Requests for Police Department records must be submitted to Rebecca Burk, by one of these methods:

- You will be notified of associated fees prior to completion of your request. Payment may be made by cash, check, or money order payable to the City of Westworth Village.
- Accident Reports can be purchased online from the State of Texas website: https://cris.dot.state.tx.us/public/Purchase/
The State of Texas maintains the records retention schedule, which the City of Westworth Village follows as mandated. Therefore, keep in mind the following when making Police and Court Document request:
- Class C Court Records are only held for 90 days once the court docket is closed or after the completion of judge’s orders.
- Records are searched for based on the information you provide. If no records are located, you should confirm that you contacted the correct municipality and/or provided accurate information to search.
- If you requested a specific case number, please verify the accuracy of the requested number, or provide additional information with which to search the records system.
- Accident Reports can be purchased online from the State of Texas website: https://cris.dot.state.tx.us/public/Purchase/
- Class C Arrest Records for misdemeanors and unclassified violations of state law or local ordinance punishable by fine only (including arrest reports and citations) are destroyed 6 months after the release or transfer to another agency.
- If this was for a Class B or above arrest record, and we were unable to locate a record based on the information provided, providing additional data in future request could be beneficial (Date of Birth, ID numbers, Location, Dates and Times of the arrest etc).
- If this request is regarding a current pending case, please contact the appropriate Court or Prosecuting Attorney for assistance, as information relating to open cases may not fall under the Public Information Act.
- If the arrest was made in conjunction with a traffic stop due to warrants from other agencies, contact the agency that maintained the warrant for information.
