Seasonal influenza is responsible for thousands of deaths annually, across the country. The City of Westworth Village will work with county health officials to keep the community up-to-date on prevention initiatives and outbreak information.
The Tarrant County Public Health Department has developed a Respiratory Virus Surveillance Program which emphasizes year-round detection of influenza and other significant sources of respiratory disease. Click HERE for the Tarrant County Health Newsletter.
Specimens collected by this surveillance program are tested for:
|· Influenza A H1, A H3, and B||· Adenovirus|
|· Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV)||· Human Metapneumovirus|
|· Parainfluenza (types 1, 2, and 3)||· Rhinovirus|
